This collection is published under the auspices of the European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT).
The rapid development of increasingly sophisticated techniques in orthopaedics incited EFORT and Elsevier to launch this collection in response to the need for organisation and standardisation in the training of European orthopaedists. The collection is coordinated by Professor Jacques Duparc, assisted by 20 Associate Editors, all renowned specialists in their fields.
This is the most comprehensive, clear and concise description of the techniques of operative surgery which I have encountered. Jacques Duparc and his colleagues are to be congratulated on a magnificent effort.
