Présentation d'une série de photographies dont l'intention est d'explorer les réalités contrastées d'un territoire au travers d'images de lieux en marge, de zones de transition, de structures à l'abandon et d'espaces naturels ou artificiels, tout en renvoyant à un monde intérieur auquel elles font écho. ©Electre 2025

« La série photographique Hinterland est un projet au long cours explorant les différentes réalités d'un territoire. Ces images montrent des lieux marginaux, zones de transition morcelées, structures abandonnées, espaces entre proximité et distance, présence et absence, naturel et artificiel. Elles livrent aussi un potentiel fictionnel : un territoire situé au-delà du visible ou du connu, cet étrange arrière-pays où la vie commence et se termine.
Hinterland libère l'écho du monde dans ses failles, tels, en creux, une mémoire silencieuse de soi, un arrière-pays intérieur. Si la schizoïdie est l'incapacité de se rendre compte de sa propre solitude, Hinterland en est le reflet, dans et hors du monde. »

« Hinterland is a long-term project that explores the different realities of a territory. The photographs in this series are of marginal places, fragmented zones of transition, abandoned structures, spaces between proximity and distance, presence and absence, the natural and the artificial. They also reveal a potential for fiction : images of a place that lies beyond what is visible or known, this strange terrain where life begins and ends.
Hinterland releases the echo of the world and its flaws, like a sunken, silent memory of itself, an inner exile. If schizoid is the inability to sense one's own solitude, then Hinterland is the reflection of it, both in the world and outside of it. »

« Hinterland is een fotografische serie, een project dat over een lang verloop verschillende realiteiten van een territorium onderzoekt. Deze afbeeldingen tonen marginale plaatsen, gefragmenteerde overgangszones, vertaten structuren, ruimtes tussen nabijheid en afstand, aanwezigheid en afwezigheid, tussen natuurlijk en kunstmatig. Ze hebben ook een potentieel voor fictie : een gebied gesitueerd voorbij het zichtbare of gekende, voorbij een vreemd achterland waar het leven begint en eindigt.
Hinterland bevrijdt de echo van de wereid in zijn tekortkomingen, als een verzonken stille herinnering aan zichzelf, een innerlijk achterland. Als schizoïdie bestaat in een onvermogen de eigen eenzaamheid te vatten, dan is Hinterland daarvan de weerspiegeling, binnenin en voorbij de wereid. »
