This volume gathers fifty eight contributions of art historians and archaeologists from most European countries and oversees, giving homage to Jean-Pierre Caillet, a renowned medievalist and university professor, witnessing the large impact of his scientific work throughout the world.
The contributions of his friends, colleagues and former students are reflecting his large scientific interests, starting with Late Antiquity, through the western early Middle Ages, the year 1 000 and Romanesque art, to the Gothic and early Renaissance periods.
