This book explores the pivotal role of Studio Prints in the revival of interest in printmaking in London from the late 1960s into the 2000s, focusing on two remarkable yet understudied British artists and master printmakers - Dorothea Wight (1944-2013) and Marc Balakjian (1938-2017). Through their exceptional technical skills and the sensitivity with which they interpreted the designs of others, Wight and Balakjian became, between 1969 and 2011, leading printers for major artists such as Frank Auerbach, Lucian Freud, Leon Kossoff, Celia Paul and many others, building with them long-lasting relationships of trust and mutual respect.

Drawing on previously unpublished archival material and a substantial body of works by these artists, a distinguished group of contributors offers new insights into a vibrant and pioneering period of artistic production in London.
