Published to coincide with the exhibition Philippe Starck, presented at the Centre Pompidou, Musée National d'Art Moderne-Centre de Création Industrielle from February 26 to May 12, 2003, this book brings together eight thematic essays. It synthesizes different readings of the designer's work through texts by Michel Onfray, Benoît Heilbrunn, Valérie Guillaume, Sophie Trelcat, Christine Colin, Vanni Pasca, Stéphane Laurent and Christopher Mount. Far from setting in stone the singularity of Starck's world, this polyphonic anthology demonstrates the extent to which the history, experience and depiction of design can be filled with imaginativeness.
