Photographer and novelist Rafael Font Vaillant has observed a rather unexpected yet rich rule for this new book : only ten photos published for each of the ten European capitals he chose to take pictures of - ten mythic towns which make you dream and take you to the end of the world : Amsterdam, Berlin, Burssels, Copenhagen, Lisboa, London, Madrid, Paris, Rome, Wien.
However, instead of roaming the centres of these cities, all the historic quarters, photographed or filmed by millions of visitors every year, Rafael Font Vaillant has been to places visitors don't see - the outskirts, where the cities end : all these places on the fringe, which are however Amsterdam, Berlin, Brussels, etc. and many others.
And all this results in original, often unusual pictures, which seem to have been taken at light years away from the city centres, not just a few minutes away as the crow flies...
