Connecting the dots

Landi has landed, was the headline in the San José Mercury News to greet Marco Landi's arrival at Apple Computer's headquarters in Cupertino. Expected as the messiah to turn around the famous Apple brand, then in severe decline, the new global President of Apple will work on the return of its emblematic founder : Steve Jobs...

HoweVer, nothing predestined the author to live such a success story. Born in Chianciano, a small village in Tuscany, and from a very modest family, the young Marco Landi had to work from the age of 11 as a shoe salesman to pay for his books and his schooling. In this autobiographical story, the author looks back on these difficult but oh-so-happy years that will strengthen his roots to propel him to the heights of global High Tech and the mythical Silicon Valley. An itinerary dotted with travels and meetings with illustrious people who will each bequeath him a lesson from which he will draw strength, the courage and determination to turn opportunities into success. Both a message to the younger generations and a reflection on the evolution of our globalized society, this book is a moving humanist testimony.
