Depuis ses débuts de photographe à la fin des années 1970, Yann Arthus-Bertrand s'est toujours interrogé sur le lien entre l'homme et la nature. Qu'il s'agisse des lions du Massaï Mara au Kenya qu'il considère comme « ses premiers professeurs de photographie », de ses grands reportages pour Géo ou National Geographic, de la Terre vue du ciel, ce monumental portrait aérien de la planète au tournant du millénaire, ou des séries qu'il a consacrées aux animaux domestiques, Yann Arthus-Bertrand enchaîne les projets. Livres, expositions et, plus récemment télévision et cinéma, lui permettent d'approfondir son engagement en faveur d'une écologie humaniste.
