Arte Sella est un musée en plein air créé en 1986 dans les Alpes du Trentin. En octobre 2018, l'ouragan Vaia touche le site puis la pandémie de Covid-19. Les installations artistiques sont abimées et une restauration s'impose. In Val di Sella, in the municipality of Borgo Valsugana, in the province of Trento, Arte Sella was established in 1986 to promote contemporary art in a natural context. Along paths, among the woods, are works of art that share nature's rhythms and transformative processes. Over time, many works have returned to nature and only photographic documentation of them remains. However, the work of each artist involved has helped to strengthen the project and to fulfil the possibility of acting gently upon nature - always to nature's benefit.

Over the years, Arte Sella has proved to be an opportunity for important artistic interventions and through its presence the valley has acquired a special connotation : alongside the beauty of the place, the encounter with artworks offers visitors unparalleled feelings and emotions.

Over 300 artists, architects, and designers from different countries have taken part : Nils-Udo, Giuliano Mauri, Patrick T. Dougherty, Chris Drury, Alan Sonfist, Luc Schuiten, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Arne Quinze, Edoardo Tresoldi, Henrique Oliveira, Kristof Kintera, Arcangelo Sassolino, Stefano Boeri, Michele De Lucchi, Kengo Kuma, Eduardo Souto de Moura, and many others recalled in this volume.

In Val di Sella, nel comune di Borgo Valsugana, in provincia di Trento, è nata nel 1986 Arte Sella, un'iniziativa volta a promuovere l'arte contemporanea nel contesto naturale. Lungo i sentieri, tra i boschi si incontrano opere d'arte che condividono il tempo della natura e i suoi processi trasformativi. Moite opere nel tempo sono ritornate alie origini e ne rimane solo la documentazione fotografica. Tuttavia il lavoro di ciascuno degli artisti che ha partecipato al progetto ha contribuito a rafforzarlo e a rendere reale la possibilità di agire delicatamente sulla natura e sempre a suo favore.

Negli anni Arte Sella si è dimostrata occasione di importanti interventi artistici e grazie alla sua presenza la valle ha assunto una connotazione particolare : accanto alle bellezze del luogo, l'incontro con le opere offre ai visitatori sensazioni ed emozioni ineguagliabili.
