Les auteurs de cet ouvrage ont mené avec pertinence des recherches très spécialisées, ayant été en contact avec divers milieux autochtones ou divers artistes d'origine tribale dans les pays mentionnés : Australie, Nouvelle-Zélande, Papouasie-Nouvelle-Guinée, Samoa, Inde, Afrique, États-Unis. Certains chercheurs sont eux-mêmes issus de communautés ethniques spécifiques, tel l'écrivain australien Herb Wharton, appartenant à la communauté Kooma (Cunnamulla-QLD, Australie), considéré dans son pays comme l'ambassadeur des écrivains aborigènes d'Australie ; il se dit « citoyen du monde ». OODGEROO dont parle un de ses amis l'acteur, écrivain, metteur en scène du QLD, Paul Sherman, était la première poétesse australienne d'origine aborigène de renommée internationale. Femme de conviction elle fut jusqu'à sa mort en 1993 l'interprète des espoirs et des peurs des membres de la tribu Noonuccal (QLD, Australie). Rosanna Raymond, artiste Maori de Samoa, Lisa Reihana artiste Maori Nga Puhi, Ngati Hina et Ngai Tu (Nouvelle-Zélande), Allen Houser, Indien Apache Chiricahua, sculpteur, peintre, dessinateur né dans l'Oklahoma (USA), N. Scott Momaday, écrivain Indien Kiowa/Cherokee né en Oklahoma (USA), tous ces artistes expriment avec talent leur « indigénéité » et offrent une autre vision d'un monde en mutation.

All contributors have a real expertise in the peoples they deal with because all of them have been in touch with the citizens of tribal origins in the countries of study : Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, India, Africa, the USA. Some contributors are themselves of tribal origins which they put in the fore with pride. Herb Wharton, of the Kooma tribe (Cunnamulla, QLD, Australia) presented by his fellow citizens as the Ambassador of Australian Aboriginal peoples, calls himself « a citizen of the world ». Oodgeroo, mentioned by Paul Sherman, a Queensland actor, writer and stage director, was the fïrst Aboriginal poet to be internationally known ; a woman politically committed she devoted her life until her death in 1993 to her people, the Noonuccal tribe (QLD, Australia) and she was the interpreter of their hopes and fears. Rosanna Raymond, a Maori artist from Samoa, Lisa Reihana, a Maori artist of the tribes Nga Puhi, Ngati Hina and Ngai Tu (New Zealand), Allan Houser, an Indian of Apache Chiricahua descent born in Oklahoma (USA), a sculptor, painter and sketch-dessiner ; N. Scott Momaday, an Indian writer of Kiowa/Cherokee descent born in Oklahoma (USA), all of them transcribe with talent their « indigeneity » and provide us with another vision of a world in a process of deep transformation.
